  1. Why this doesn't have any comments, if it's so interesting 😄

  2. Em Spearing says:

Language matters and words mean things. You can't just say, "Everything is made of atoms." This is false. Very false. For example, ALL sub-atomic particles are NOT made of atoms, nor is time, space, thought, most lawyers and politicians, and, well, and … Trilithium crystals.

I think he/they did a great job breaking it down Barney style for people like me. Well done BBC!

  4. Dear Mr. Al-Khalili, this is such a great work you & BBC had done. It brings physics to the masses (!) … in such an entertaining way … what can I say … even better … no … much better than sex & crime … 😉 … THANK YOU!

  5. Great accomplishment by the BBC

  6. Jim Al-Khalili IS ONE OF THE BEST COMMUNICATOR IN REALM OF PHYSICS AND COSMOLOGY BRIDGING HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL WITH TODAYS BREAKING NEWS, STAYING FIRMLY FACTUAL AND ACCURATE. HIS KNOWLEDGE OF HISTORY OF PHYSICS IS UNPARALLELED. GREAT JOB JIM!! GREAT JOB BBC!!

  7. Allen Hyer says:

We can't visualize atoms: yet images of atoms are produced in labs every day.

  20. killerGaming says:

am new to this atom thing. I am trying to understand it. Like how do we know what atoms are made of like protons and neutron? How do we know what they do and how many electrons and protons and neutrons each element has. They explain theories and how the atom was proven true but how does a ray bouncing off an atom tell us about what is made out of. I get that's how we discovered it has a lot of empty space. Another question is how do we now that there is not something smaller than an atom? Couldn't stuff be infinitely smaller? If you go into the nucleus of an atom like a close up would it just be nothing? What is actually true empty space? Isn't the air full of atoms, so air is not truly just empty space. What is emptiness then even though it appears empty it has something?

  21. can you help me pleas:
Which are the main ideas that catch up your interest? What do you think about the contributions of all of these brilliant scientists and how they change our minds and the way we are living?
